Not sure why everyone is labelling this as Facebook’s Vanity URLs… the only change is it will be like Twitter for a second but there will be a hang of a lot more peeps trying to make sure they get their name registered for themselves.  Basically Facebook provided us with the following image of what your Facebook Profile link currently looks like and what it will look like once you have registered it:

So hopefully I’ll have either ‘DanBaileyUK’ or maybe I’ll just go for ‘DanBailey’ or ‘DanielBailey’ – will see, what would you prefer for my Facebook Profile URL?

Now I’m sure peeps in the USA are definitely not going to go out this Friday night and stay in to make sure they get the right names, us here in South Africa will be lucky enough to wake up on Saturday morning and just click click and BOOM we have our own VANITY url from Facebook to go together with our Twitter URL plus others… (BE CAREFUL – once you have selected your name you won’t be able to change it, so don’t be stupid!)
