Back in the day when we were still on 486′s and we were just getting our first VGA or if we were lucky SVGA monitor and we were waiting for Windows 95 to come out I made my first and only virus program with a mate.
What it would do – FORMAT YOUR ENTIRE PC!
How we did it – we took format.com and renamed it after some new game like ‘bomberman’ or something, so it became ‘bomberman.com’
The Problem – when you ran format.com it needed a drive to format like ‘format c:’ and also when it was running it would say ‘formatting c: 1% complete’ and show the progress.
The solution – we edited the format.com file and found the wording for ‘formatting’ and changed it to ‘installing’
And bingo we had a nice little program that would wipe your computer clean, we then gave it to a ‘friend’ of ours and said it was this awesome new game.
Lets just say it the virus worked!
Haven’t tried to make another once since but maybe one day…

Quickly catch it now before it gets taken off again, the New Moon movie coming out soon is a follow on from the bestseller book Twilight in the New Moon series.
After having their 11th child, an Australian couple decided that that was enough, as they couldn’t afford a larger bed. So the husband went to his doctor and told him that he and his wife didn’t want to have any more children. The doctor told him there was a procedure called a vasectomy that would fix the problem but it was expensive.
A less costly alternative was to go home, get a large firecracker, light it, put it in a beer can, then hold the can up to his ear and count to 10.
The husband said to the doctor, “I may not be the smartest guy in the world, but I don’t see how putting a firework in a beer can next to my ear is going to help me with my problem.”
“Trust me, it will do the job”, said the doctor.
So the man went home, lit a cracker and put it in a beer can. He held the can up to his ear and began to count: “1, 2, 3, 4, 5,”at which point he paused, placing the beer can between his legs so he could continue counting on his other hand.
This procedure also works in New Zealand and Tasmania.
The Scientist by Coldplay is one of my favourite songs, here are 2 cover versions done by Natasha Bedingfield and Avril Lavigne and then the original although acoustic version done by Coldplay – who do you reckon is best?

I think Coldplay wins hands down!
Just heard this on 5fm that the awesome new song by Kasabian – Fire was filmed about 150km outside of Cape Town. The band wanted the look of an old small US town and apparently it was cheaper to come to SA to get that look.
This follows Snow Patrol also doing a music video here in Cape Town after they recently toured SA. Awesomeness for SA!
U2 played at Wembley Stadium last night to 88,000 people – this is a video a friend of mine took while they played the awesome song ‘With or without you’, enjoy!
I saw them at Twickenham back in 2005 and they are awesome live!
The new Ferrari 458 Italia berlinetta was unveiled this week and WOW I want one now! Image the girls down in Camps Bay, they would come running out of Caprice and line up to see who could get in… or they would just be blond and all try at once… who knows!
Anyway, its the successor to the F430, but the 458 Italia is only the new entry-level V8 in Ferrari’s range – I promise I won’t complain if I have to take the entry level model!

You can read more about it here.
